From a riders point of view- Written by Helen Pike

We were attending a board meeting for the Lending Journey in late 2013. I was a little early, as was Vince, the founder of the organization. Vince is my first cousin. As kids we were inseparable. We are about the same age and lived next door to each other. If …

Day 7-Being inspired by their words

It seems like I am the only one who is sending pictures out late and if this one has been already posted I apologize.  So often when I bring Canadians with me on trips to Latin America they have in mind how they are going to be able to help, …

I could help in the healing process because I had lived their pain

Every so often I have breakfast with a good friend named Jan. Our conversations are always thought provoking, and challenging.  During breakfast last week the topic of brokenness came up. We came to the conclusion that like us, most of the world is made up of broken people. People who …

Reality is created when dreams and desires meet discipline

I left to go for a bike ride around 7 am this morning and it was freezing cold.  I find it challenging some days, like today, going and training  but I know I have to keep riding every day.  The dream about the bike ride, Pedaling  Against Poverty, I love. …

What have I learned about this experience? One moment of negativity can keep you in a state of perpetual imbalance

We have a huge S curve in the the road right at the front of our property.  I mean really huge.   Motorcyclists  love it.  In the summer on a weekend it would not be unusual to have 100′s of motorbikes ride past our home.  They love going into the …

  • About Vince

I have spent the greater part of my 25 years of vocation as a small business entrepreneur. The last 15 years have been spent as well as consultant for the C&MA and most recently as the International Director of a micro-finance charity I founded in Latin America. My experiences include surviving a plane crash in the jungles of Papua to being lost in the rain forest of Ecuador. My work has demanded my travel and involvement in a number of cultures and countries and I would describe my present situation as that of a third-culture-executive.
